(Antirrhinum majus) Often a moment of quiet is exactly what’s needed. At least that’s how we feel! Our small patch of Royal Bride offered a bit of breath during often hectic days. Sweetly fragrant at 3’ tall, the blooms are white with a slight cream center, really long blooming and often abuzz with pollinators. A wonderful cutting flower and garden bloomer from June through September.

Growing Info

SOWING:

Sow indoors 8-10 weeks before your last frost.

Transplant out after last frost.

Direct seeding not recommended but by all means, let us know how it goes for you!

Note: Dependable, long blooming, and pollinator attracting.

PLANTING DEPTH:

Surface or lightly cover with vermiculite. Light is required for germination.

SPACING:

8-12" in rows 12" apart.

10-21 days @ soil temp 65-75F

LIGHT:

Full sun to part shade

FERTILITY:

Average. Prefers well-drained, and evenly moist neutral soil but is tolerant of many soils.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

Dependable and care-free, long blooming, and pollinator attracting.

Edible (but disliked by rabbits and deer), so sprinkle away!

If you like, pinch back growing stem (at 6 true leaves) for bushier plant.

Prefers cool weather.

Do provide support and deadhead to prolong flowering.

Harvest stems when lower flowers are 1/3 open and expect a vase life of 7-10 days.
