Columbine, 'Longspur'
(Aquilegia longissima) Golden blooms with the longest tails in the Aquilegia business flit around like shooting stars in airy displays held high above beautiful rosettes of foliage. This rare and beautiful columbine is native to moist canyon territory from Arizona and west Texas though Northern Mexico and gets its name from its fantastically long nectar spurs, an adaptation to attract its preferred pollinator: large Hawkmoths with tongues 3.5-4.5" long. Unfussy plants grow to 3+' blooming second year and thereafter. Unusual and attention grabbing accent in bouquets. Excellent long stems
