Morning Glory, 'Grandpa Ott's'
*Heirloom*
(I. purpurea) Now famous as the variety that set the Whealy’s on their path to eventually found the Seed Savers Exchange, Grandpa Ott’s is a real beauty. Of Bavarian origins, its purple trumpets have glowing magenta centers and a dark five pointed star pattern. Climbs over 10’ in a season with trellising and is covered with blooms until frost. May self sow but not in a “hell-bent on world domination” way, like some of its weedy relatives.
