Storage Onion, 'Rijnsburg 5'

With several storage onions we grow and love already, we weren’t sure we needed another in our catalog, but Rijnsburg so impressed us, we ended up saving the best bulbs from the harvest and producing seed. Dutch bred, and reasonably well known in Europe, it is a very productive large round globe type with gorgeous bronze wrappers, and excellent flavor. Firm yellow bulbs stored without temperature control into June for us without sprouting. Strong leaf growth is well suited to organic systems and mechanical cultivation.
