**Ark Of Taste Heirloom**
So named because they were used as a substitute for dried figs in winters past (18th century), these vines are early and heavy yielding with red pear shaped fruits.  We have been on the lookout for a good red pear variety and these are the best ones yet, with a very meaty and full tomato taste.  In the cool, wet growing seasons of '07 and '08, 10, and 11 (!)  they exhibited the best (almost complete) late blight resistance of any tomato we've ever grown.  Like all pear tomatoes, irregular watering will cause cracking. Slightly later maturing then Yellow PearI. Indeterminate.
