B. oleracea
Classic green curly kale. Sturdy compact plants stand about 18" tall with a full spread of dark blue-green leaves.  Very cold hardy, the plants sweeten after the first fall frosts and overwinter with ease in most Pacific Northwest locations. Our stand overwintered down to 0 F with no snow cover in the winters of 2008 and 2009. Make kale chips!
