(Purple Stripe) This has been our most consistent main crop garlic since we started growing for market in the Puget Sound region. An excellent producer year in, year out with beautiful red clove wrappers and lovely purple striping. Nice clove structure with few doubles, 8-10 easily peeled cloves, and considered to be full flavored and the very best for roasting. A friend who grows quite a bit of garlic had a devastating outbreak of white rot in 2008. By far the strongest survivor was the Chesnok, suggesting a degree of resistance in the genetics.  From Shvelisi in the Republic of Georgia. Ripens mid-season.
